In this session, Richard White, Senior Vice President of Government Relations for Jackson, will share his insights on the political environment leading into the midterm elections and the key races that could determine control of Congress. With more than 35 years of experience working in Washington, D.C., including time spent in the United States Senate, the White House, and federal and state political campaigns, Rich brings a seasoned insider perspective on the forces shaping today’s political climate.

The discussion will cover early election indicators, the reliability of polling and special election results, and whether historical trends regarding shifts in party control are still likely to hold in today’s increasingly polarized environment. Rich will also examine the major policy issues expected to influence voters, including affordability, immigration, healthcare, and geopolitical conflicts.

About the Speaker

Richard White
Senior Vice President of Government Relations, Jackson

Richard (Rich) White is Senior Vice President of Government Relations for Jackson National Life Insurance Company. He leads Jackson’s government relations efforts at the local, state, and federal levels, helping formulate the company’s policy positions and advocacy strategies.

Rich also oversees Jackson’s engagement with elected officials and regulatory agencies. He manages the company’s relationships with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, the American Council of Life Insurers, the Insured Retirement Institute, and other insurance industry stakeholders.

Prior to joining Jackson in July 2017, Rich served as a partner at Thorn Run Partners, a leading federal lobbying and policy consulting firm based in Washington, D.C. He also supported Jackson as a consultant for more than two decades. Rich is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association and holds a bachelor’s degree from Franklin and Marshall College and a law degree from The Catholic University of America.
